Alberti Publishing creates curriculum for private piano teachers that is interesting and fun for today’s modern student.

Kids like color and funny stories. Teachers need effective tools for instruction. They want more than to just get the job done–they want to create tomorrow’s musicians. Alberti’s piano curriculum does it all, combining great illustrations with pedagogically sound instruction.  We’re helping the next generation embrace great music.

Alberti Publishing was started by Adam and Anna Bendorf, private piano teachers. After years of experiencing the need for more relevant teaching materials, they decided to create a fresh, modern curriculum that fosters a love for music. Their debut series, The Right Notes, has colorful illustrations coupled with historically accurate (and sometimes funny) music trivia and facts.

Now, teachers can help their students relate to music better than ever before.

CLAIRE WACHTER – Consulting Editor of The Right Notes
Claire Wachter is an Associate Professor of Piano and Piano Pedagogy, and chairs the piano department at the University of Oregon. Prior to her appointment at the University of Oregon, she was a member of the piano faculty at the University of Texas in Austin and the University of the Pacific in California. Ms. Wachter has appeared in solo, chamber and/or concerto concerts in the United States and in Austria, Italy, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Canada. She has performed with the Oregon Bach Festival, the Oregon Festival of American Music, the Utah Music Festival, the Rome Festival (Italy) and the Russian River Chamber Music Festival (California). In the Northwest, she has appeared with the Eugene Symphony, the Oregon Symphony, and the Oregon Mozart Players. She was an invited speaker for the Music Teachers National Association conferences in Dallas, TX (1997), Kansas City, MO (2004) and Toronto, Canada (2007). Ms. Wachter is also a member of the summer faculty of the International Institute for Young Musicians, hosted by the University of Kansas.

ANNA BENDORF – Vice President, Pedagogy | Co-Author of The Right Notes
Pianist Anna Bendorf received her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Oregon. She has extensive performing experience as both an accompanist and solo performer. While studying music she won several piano competitions and sang in the university audition choir and Eugene Symphony Chorus. Her instructors have included Dr. Claire Wachter, Virginia H. Buhn, Dr. Dean Kramer, Victor Steinhardt, and Robert Ward. Anna’s main love now is teaching piano privately—something that she has been doing for the past fourteen years. Anna also currently writes reviews for children’s music albums, and accompanies the children’s choir at Faith Community Church in Newhall, California.

ADAM BENDORF – Owner and President | Co-Author of The Right Notes
Pianist and composer/arranger Adam Bendorf received his Bachelor’s degree in piano from The Master’s College. His teaching experience includes private and group instruction in piano, music theory, music history, and improvisation for all ages. As a member at the TMC piano camp, Adam has taught music history and coached piano. He has also adjudicated the first round of the California Reflections composition competition.  Recent performances include the International Los Angeles Franz Liszt Competition and a collaborative performance with duo partner and wife, Anna, in a performance of several of Brahms’ Hungarian Dances at Occidental College. Adam has studied with Donald Walker, Dr. Jeanine Jacobson, and Robert Ward. He currently plays piano and keyboards for Faith Community Church in Santa Clarita, California.
